Dr Pooja Bandekar holds the positions of Professor, Seth G.S.Medical College and Unit Head At Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. Dedicated, compassionate and highly competent, Dr Pooja is the youngest gynaecologist to become Unit Head at the prestigious Wadia Maternity Hospital. Her patients adore her, while her juniors hold her in high esteem. Popular and multitalented, this petite lady has carved a name for herself in the field of medicine as well as music.
Dr Pooja has many awards to her credit, including The Mumbai Mayor’s award 2012 (Mahapaur Sanmaan) for parallel proficiency in music and medicine. She has been the final winner of ZEE Marathi, “SA RE GA MA” Light Classical Vocal Music Competition, September, 2000; Final Winner of ZEE T.V. “CLOSE-UP ANTAKSHARI” Light Classical Vocal Music Competition – September, 2000 and Final Winner of SAHYADRI – ”RAMBANDHU ANTAKSHARI” Maha-antim Pheri of Light Classical Vocal Music Competition: November, 2008.
A true student as well as champion of music, Dr Pooja is the nightingale of Sargam. She can belt out Lataji’s melodies, sprightly Asha numbers as well as folk songs with equal ease.
